"Before joining the robotics team, I didn't really have a set idea of what I wanted to do once I got to college. I had a general idea of becoming an engineering major, but there are many different majors within the field of engineering and I had no idea of where to begin. After joining the BHS robotics team and experiencing the different aspects of building a successful robot, I had a much better understanding of what I wanted to do. Our team was split amongst mechanical, electrical, and programming. After having a taste of each, I decided to pursue electrical engineering as my major for college because that specific area of the robotics process was very appealing to me.” - Tim Hamamori, Team Captain 2008 currently at Boston University
Our alumni team members have graduated Beckman and are attending the following universities:
Boston University, Carnegie Mellon, Santa Clara University, UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Davis, USC, CSU Fullerton and Irvine Valley College.
They are majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Integrative Biology, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, Mechanical Engineering , Computer Science (Games) and Civil Engineering.

“What I most appreciated about robotics was its hands-on approach and the outside learning of skills it provided. It is definitely much easier to understand the theory of physics when applying it to a set material when building a robot. For anyone who is interested in engineering in college, robotics provides a head start opportunity in the process and teamwork of design. Plus who else is soldering circuits in high school?” - Charlene Fan, Team Member 2008 currently at UC Berkeley
